USP Sponsors Workshop on Energy Efficiency

Utility Service Partners was the proud sponsor of a free workshop on Energy Efficiency held on June 30, 2009 in Beckley, West Virginia. The workshop, entitled "Bottom Line Green: Saving Money, Saving Energy, Saving Homes" and presented by Jim Hunt, one of America's leading municipal consultants, featured a dynamic and informative program on cutting edge solutions to today's energy problems. As energy efficiency continues to be on the forefront of economic policy, this workshop was an excellent opportunity to inform city officials of exciting ideas and new strategies to conserve energy and save money, along with state of the art practices for achieving energy goals.

Representatives from USP were also available to discuss current offerings of affordable consumer warranties for outside and in-home utility line protection, which save community dollars and reduce citizen frustration with City Hall.  For a low monthly fee, and at no additional costs to the municipality, USP's warranties give the community residents the option to take advantage of peace of mind coverage that protects them against unplanned or costly repairs during these tough economic times. Attendees were also reminded of how timely repair or replacement of water and sewer lines not only conserves water but also reduces waste water pollution.

City officials were also informed about USP’s energy efficient traditional water heaters, tankless water heaters, and appliance leasing programs.  These offerings provide citizens the chance to participate in energy efficiency for a low monthly payment, with little or no upfront costs, and actually make "going green" affordable.  Homeowners and property managers can enjoy worry-free hot water with the guarantee that USP will perform any repairs or routine maintenance needed on the equipment.

This workshop, hosted in the community room of Beckley's City Hall, engaged the attendees with thought provoking ideas on developing an energy plan for sustaining the health and well being of their city and provided the opportunity for USP to learn more about becoming a better informed partner to cities throughout West Virginia.
